Apple Crisp

Ingredients:

For the Apple Filling:

8 cups sliced and peeled apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)

3/4 cup granulated sugar

1/4 cup brown sugar, packed

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1 tablespoon lemon juice

For the Crisp Topping:

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 cup old-fashioned oats

1 cup brown sugar, packed

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup unsalted butter, melted

Directions:

Preheat Oven:

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a deep-dish baking pan or a 9×13 inch baking dish.

Prepare the Apple Filling:

In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, granulated sugar, brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Toss to coat the apples evenly. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it out evenly.

Prepare the Crisp Topping:

In a separate bowl, combine the flour, oats, brown sugar, granulated sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Stir in the melted butter until the mixture is crumbly and well combined.

Assemble the Crisp:

Sprinkle the crisp topping evenly over the apple mixture, covering it completely.

Bake the Crisp:

Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender and bubbly. Let the crisp cool for at least 15 minutes before serving.

Serve:

Serve the Deep Dish Apple Crisp warm, with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream for an extra touch of indulgence. Enjoy this comforting and classic dessert!
