Gooey Apple Caramel Bombs

Flaky, golden biscuits filled with warm apples and melty caramel—these little dessert bombs are ooey-gooey on the inside and perfectly crisp on the outside. They’re quick, easy, and guaranteed to disappear fast!

Ingredients

  • 1 (16.3-oz) can refrigerated biscuit dough (8 biscuits)
  • 8 soft caramel candies
  • 1 tablespoon butter (for apple filling)
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter (for brushing tops)
  • 1 medium apple, peeled and finely diced
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Pinch of nutmeg (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar (for topping)

Instructions

Step 1: Make the Apple Filling

  1. In a small skillet, melt 1 tablespoon butter over medium heat.
  2. Add diced apple, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. Cook for 3–4 minutes until the apples soften and caramelize slightly. Remove from heat and cool.

Step 2: Prep the Biscuit Dough

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Flatten each biscuit into a 4-inch circle.

Step 3: Fill & Seal

  1. Place a spoonful of apple mixture and 1 caramel candy in the center of each dough circle.
  2. Fold dough around the filling and pinch seams to seal tightly. Roll gently into a ball.

Step 4: Bake

  1. Place bombs seam-side down on the baking sheet.
  2. Brush tops with melted butter and sprinkle with granulated sugar.
  3. Bake 13–16 minutes, or until golden brown.

Step 5: Serve

  • Let cool slightly (the caramel inside will be very hot).
  • Serve warm as-is or drizzle with extra caramel sauce for ultimate indulgence.

Tips & Variations

  • Extra Gooey: Add a few mini chocolate chips with the caramel before sealing.
  • Savory-Sweet: Sprinkle a touch of sea salt over the tops before baking for salted caramel flavor.
  • Mini Version: Cut biscuits in half to make smaller bite-sized bombs for parties.
  • Make Ahead: Assemble bombs, refrigerate, then bake fresh when ready to serve.
