- 2 tablespoons melted butter (for brushing tops)
- 1 medium apple, peeled and finely diced
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- Pinch of nutmeg (optional)
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar (for topping)
Instructions
Step 1: Make the Apple Filling
- In a small skillet, melt 1 tablespoon butter over medium heat.
- Add diced apple, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Cook for 3–4 minutes until the apples soften and caramelize slightly. Remove from heat and cool.
Step 2: Prep the Biscuit Dough
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Flatten each biscuit into a 4-inch circle.
Step 3: Fill & Seal
- Place a spoonful of apple mixture and 1 caramel candy in the center of each dough circle.
- Fold dough around the filling and pinch seams to seal tightly. Roll gently into a ball.
Step 4: Bake
- Place bombs seam-side down on the baking sheet.
- Brush tops with melted butter and sprinkle with granulated sugar.
- Bake 13–16 minutes, or until golden brown.
Step 5: Serve
- Let cool slightly (the caramel inside will be very hot).
- Serve warm as-is or drizzle with extra caramel sauce for ultimate indulgence.
Tips & Variations
- Extra Gooey: Add a few mini chocolate chips with the caramel before sealing.
- Savory-Sweet: Sprinkle a touch of sea salt over the tops before baking for salted caramel flavor.
- Mini Version: Cut biscuits in half to make smaller bite-sized bombs for parties.
- Make Ahead: Assemble bombs, refrigerate, then bake fresh when ready to serve.
